Looks like typical my-first-game-that-sux. The only thing mentioning are pretty blood splash effects when bullet hits enemy.

Hehehehe well, yes, it's my first game, but not so bad imo for the first one :P

not the best gameplay. slow pace of game. next time think of instruction layout as it scares the s*** out of people. 1.5 because it could have been good game.

seems like lots of potential. didn't make it far though. i feel lost and confused what and how to do. needs mouse control, quicker walking speed and map with teleport option

It's simply a journey to the canyon, the maps have one entrance and one exit so it's just a matter of looking around. You don't have to go through each map over and over though, once you unlock the next one you can fast travel and skip other maps in between.

i have been wondering myself what a crossover between tetris and fallknight would look like. or just tetris in space where is no ground.

how did you achieve that blocks of the same color connect into one?

My setup for the tile engine is like this:
I have 16 graphics for the Tetris tile in my texture sheet. When my engine renders a block, it checks the tiles around it, and writes a small string where 1 means there is a similar tile and 0 means there isn't. (It looks like 1001 or 0111). Then, the renderer picks an image with the tile ID corresponding to its color an position. :)

gets boring quickly - i finsihed 10 roudn and decided no more. nice graphics. bad mechanics. i dotn feel like im playing it its liek its playing on its own sometimes forcing me to click somewhere. it doesnt matter if i click wuicker/more accurate and it should!. msuic ok up to some point. dont liek coins- it would take me forever to get coins to upgrade. click each coins seperately seems no fun as well.

Decent job. Beautiful graphics. no ducking - you dont need it but its strange for me. when i pressed down and nothing happened. i would appreciate it much more if i was a child now i look it as product. music is not tireing which is good. Absolutely forgetful - nothing distinguish this game from othe rplatformers exce[t the high production level.

-dark neon graphics(hwo do you achieve it?)
-story
-characters both player and of lanntern(big likes)
-short levels

minor likes:
-music good to atmoshpere but not ipod material

dislikes(minors):
-damage over time is too strong comparing to direct damage one fire breath almost kills you
-when characters is on platform you are forced to push right in order to move with platform and graphicly it looks fake maybe giving while on platform and no input set x speed of actor to speed of platform?
-candles looks too much like needles so im not sure soemtimes

Thank you for all the kind words, as well as the critique. The dark neon graphics were inspired by nes games, specifically ones with levels that had jet black backgrounds and who's foregrounds were a pink, purple, blue and orange H.R.Giger nightmare. The pallet of this game is pretty much built out of the nes pallet. Unfortunately the pallet has lead to some confusion, you're not the only one who was thrown off by the candles.

As for the platforms, I agree that they're kinda weird. I basically dove right in to making games as soon as I got stencyl and by the time I got good enough at coding to make conventional platforms I'd already built the game around them being the way they are. I like them as a sort of final challenge but now that I've done them this way I'm not too interested in doing it again.
